Consultation and working groups

The Wander community is all about collaboration. Our working groups share knowledge and information and contribute to the innovation and improvement of our Wander solutions.

Overview of working groups and consultative committees

Begeleidende commissie

This committee brings together representatives from all Wander partners. Once a year, we meet in an open and constructive atmosphere to:

  • brainstorm about Wander's strategic course;
  • discuss partners' ideas, needs and any bottlenecks;
  • determine the priorities for further development and adjustments of Wander;
  • strengthen thecooperation within our network.
AAT Working Group

The AAT Working Group works together to optimize the use of the Art & Architecture Thesaurus® within Wander. We focus on how this rich vocabulary can best be used for cataloging and look at both the content and its practical use.

Specifically, the working group is concerned with coordinating metadata, setting clear guidelines and monitoring quality. In addition, we are actively contributing to the further development and anchoring of this standard in the sector by providing input to Getty.

Archives Working Group

The Archives Working Group is a place where users of the Wander Archives module come together to share ideas, experiences and knowledge. We keep each other informed about the further development of the module, brainstorm about possible improvements and discuss new functionalities.

During the meetings, we clearly explain how the Archives module works and make joint agreements, so that everyone can work with the various components in a consistent and efficient way.

Cataloging Working Group

The cataloging working group welcomes all WanderCollections partners who want to brainstorm about cataloging. By definition, all partners of the network catalog are members. Every 6 months, we meet with the following goals:

  • make and maintain joint agreements for the manual and input rules;
  • sharing knowledge, answering questions and solving problems;
  • request innovations, present new ideas for improvement;
  • inform, e.g. about standards or functionalities of the cataloging module.
Rare Books Working Group

Describing rare books requires even more detailed agreements than modern materials. That is why we bring these WanderCollections partners together, on demand, in the rare books working group. Topics include specific rules and questions concerning, for example, collations, bibliographic fingerprints, authority data from the printer or bookseller.

AAT® Flanders-Netherlands Editorial Working Group

The AAT® Flanders-Netherlands Editorial Working Group is an overarching working group composed of heritage specialists from various organizations that aims to permanently expand the Art & Architecture Thesaurus®, more specifically the Dutch component. Wander (still under the name Anet at the time) has been structurally involved as one of the leading members since 2013.

Keywords Working Group

The Keywords Working Group meets on demand to discuss changes to the keyword authority file. The keyword database originated from the access systems of the affiliated colleges and forms a dynamic whole that can be adapted to the needs of users. All Wander partners who work with keywords are represented in the working group.
