An aspiration that became reality

For years, the Ruusbroec Society had a big wish: to make its unique collection of devotional prints accessible online. Thanks to the collaboration with the Wander team, that aspiration became a reality in 2021.
Together, they investigated how they could build a module that went beyond an ordinary image bank. The collection includes more than 45,000 prints, from ancient engravings to modern posters and each image tells a story, carries meaning, and offers valuable insights.
The result? Devotio, a customized online module that not only describes all types of sources in a clear way, but also offers new opportunities to search the rich information in these images.
Thanks to the expertise of the Wander team, Devotio has become a powerful tool for researchers, students, and anyone who wants to delve into religious visual culture. - Daniël Ermens, collection specialist in devotional prints and manuscripts, Ruusbroec Society
The Ruusbroec Society and the Wander team are extremely proud of what they have achieved together and look forward to continuing to grow this digital treasure trove in the coming years.
